Press-fit
efa becomes a designer and manufacturer of press-fit electronic boards
efa has taken a major step forward with the addition of new in-house expertise: the design and manufacture of press-fit electronic boards.
This technology, commonly used to insert connector pins into printed circuit boards (PCBs), improves electrical conduction for high currents without the need to solder components.
To offer the best possible service to its customers, efa France has teamed up with component manufacturer MTConnectivity to achieve this breakthrough.

What efa can do for you with press-fit technology

- ZMore amperes: A tenfold increase in current capacity for optimum performance and improved production costs
- ZTechnological independence: Our boards are manufactured in-house
- ZMultiphysics simulations: Thanks to the contribution of the Electrical, Energy and Mechanical teams within its Design Office, efa designs, simulates and optimises its boards both electrically and thermally.
- ZSpace saving: Current conduction via PCB reduces the size of your systems and PDUs
What types of components are available in press-fit mode?
- ^High-power power elements
- ^Wire-to-board connectors
- ^Board-to-board connectors
- ^Relay sockets
- ^Automotive fuse holders
- ^Connectors for power modules (contactors, DC/DC converters, etc.)

Why choose press-fit rather than welding?
The press-fit principle is based on the use of mechanical pressure to insert a pin into a hole slightly smaller than the diameter of the connector to be inserted on the PCB. The force of friction holds the part in place and guarantees the strength of the assembly.

A breakthrough that strengthens efa’s expertise and opens up new industrial prospects !
