DC electric motors

Our range of DC motors

As their name suggests, DC electric motors use direct current as their power supply. DC motors are less expensive and easier to integrate into your electrical system. In fact, they do not require the use of an AC/DC converter.

DC motors are preferable for vehicles or low-consumption installations (below 1 kW). DC electric motors are generally used in 12 or 24V applications.

They have a linear torque/speed ratio, which makes them easy to use. DC motors do have a few drawbacks, however. They require maintenance. The higher the power, the more expensive the maintenance.

That’s why, barring exceptional circumstances, we will never offer you a DC motor over 1 kW.

The DC motor range also includes brushless DC motors. These electric motors have no brushes, so they last longer and require less maintenance. On the other hand, the controllers will be more sophisticated and therefore more expensive.
