efa customer feedback - A tailor-made radio control system

A radio remote control system to remotely control various sliding modules: this was the project that efa was asked to undertake by one of its customers, a coachbuilder specialising in modular HGVs for applications in the medical, military, technical and events sectors, to name but a few. The challenge? To remotely open and close modules on their custom-built trucks.

An Autec transmitter for improved performance

To meet the customer’s specifications, we chose a compact LKNEO FHSS transmitter (FHSS technology provides robust, interference-resistant and secure transmission) combined with a DCRS13 receiver, all from Autec.

For such projects, our efa teams design, configure and support our customers in the development of receivers/transmitters. efa is the exclusive distributor of the Autec brand in France, and also manages the after-sales service in France.

Choosing remote control for greater security and efficiency

Allowing remote control from a radio remote control means giving your teams the opportunity to work in a safer, more reassuring environment, and also to :

  • Greater safety for operators: In many working environments, certain tasks can be dangerous for operators. Remote control allows these tasks to be carried out remotely, reducing the risk of accidents and injuries.
  • Easier access to dangerous areas: some areas can be difficult to access or dangerous for humans. Remote-controlled machines can be used to access narrow, unstable or contaminated areas without exposing operators to risk.
  • Increased efficiency: Remote control often enables greater precision in machine control. This can lead to more precise execution of tasks, increasing the overall efficiency of operations.
  • Work made easier in hostile environments: Some industrial environments, such as areas contaminated by toxic substances or steep slopes, can be dangerous for operators. The remote control makes it possible to carry out tasks in such environments without endangering human life.
  • Reduced fatigue: Piloting machinery remotely can reduce operator fatigue, particularly in situations where constant monitoring is required. This can improve concentration and overall performance.
  • Optimising all operations: Remote control allows multiple machines to be managed from a single control point, which can be useful for optimising operations on complex industrial sites.

  • Greater adaptability: The ability to remotely control a machine means greater flexibility in operations. Operators can quickly adjust movements and actions as the situation changes.

Remote control of machinery is increasingly used in a variety of sectors, including construction, logistics, manufacturing and other areas where precise handling and safety are crucial.
